The task was to develop a visual system for an imaginary company. Florescent Sanctuary is a community-based flower shop. The mission of Florescent Sanctuary is to create a safe space through the giving and receiving of flowers for multiple occasions such as weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, and “just because”.

Florescent Sanctuary lives by the values of nurturing, harmony, commitment, and presence. With these ideals, the decision to use both photography and illustration was established. With this are also bright colors and gradients that are used with the thick and thin illustrations. This system is then led by the use of large type that are cut out from the photos and illustrations and placed on white backgrounds to create this breathing space which is reflective of a safe space. These elements working together help in creating the feeling of being connected and that is what Florescent Sanctuary wants to share with the people of the community.
