The challenge for this project was to create either a food or beverage packing that was culturally represented and also maintain appreciation and respect for the culture. Masaya, which translates to "happy" in English, is a brand that focused on the festivals of the Philippines. After researching and creating mood boards, a final mood board was chosen that was vibrant and full of life through the festivals chosen: MassKara, Dinagyang, and Pahiyas. These different festivals created Masaya and brought it to life with its celebration, color, and fun, but it required proper research to learn about them and the culture itself. The research was very essential in representing this culture respectfully, but also creatively.
